Why Join?

The National Council of State Boards of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology is the only organization that is devoted to supporting the work of licensing boards in our two professions. We provide a connection that otherwise would not exist among the different boards.

NCSB is a non-profit organization which operates on a limited budget, and with volunteer staff. We keep conference registration fees low to encourage broad participation, and consequently, conference fees do not cover the entire cost of running the conference. Additionally, there are obvious costs involved in printing our newsletter and State Directory.

NCSB is active in engaging licensing boards, their administrators and their members in discussions of relevance to the regulation of the professions. We have an active listserv, which serves as a forum for boards. We maintain a database of information on the state boards throughout the country (provided to your board free of charge with board membership), we publish a newsletter, and we run an annual conference to address timely topics of concern to licensing boards. This website, which provides up-to-date information at your fingertips, is our latest undertaking.

The annual NCSB conferences are well received, and participants tell us that they look forward to the opportunity to interact with their colleagues from around the country.
