NCSB is a non-profit organization consisting of licensure boards throughout the United States that license and regulate the practice of speech-language pathology and audiology. The mission of NCSB is as follows:
- to facilitate communications among its members to protect consumers from unethical and incompetent practitioners or practices as part of the services provided by these licensed professionals;
- to sponsor collaboration among members in developing compatible standards and cooperative procedures for licensure of speech-language pathologists and audiologists within the United States and Canada;
- to serve as an educational resource for consumers who express an interest in audiology and speech-language pathology services; and
- within the limits of the law, to do all things necessary, proper, incidental, suitable, useful, and conducive to the complete accomplishment of the foregoing purposes.
