    NCSB is seeking nominations for the following Board positions:

    • Director - 3 vacancies. The term for directors is three years and shall begin on January 1st of the year following their election (January 1, 2027).

    NCSB will also accept nominations from member states. 

    Duties of the Director

    • Represent the interests of their respective constituencies.
    • Carries out those responsibilities delegated by the President.

    Key Dates and Nomination Information:

    • Nominations are due by June 30.
    • Nominees must include a 1 paragraph biography, including qualifications and a statement of their interest in serving with their nomination. (Limit 200 words).
    • The voting period is July 15 to September 5, successful candidates will take their positions beginning January 1. 
    • On this ballot, members will also vote for the position of President Elect. The nominee(s) for this role must currently serve as a director on the NCSB board, with nominations being made by the board itself.

    ARTICLE VII

    Directors

    Sec. 2 Number, Qualifications, Term of Office, Manner of Selection

    1. Number and Qualifications
      1. The Board of Directors shall consist of no more than ten (10 members). The ten (10) member board shall consist of five (5) officers and five (5) directors at large. At least two members on the Board of Directors shall be licensed audiologists and at least two members shall be licensed speech-language pathologists. Members of the Board of Directors shall be active members of the Council in good standing.
      2. Members of the Board of Directors shall be from states that are members of the Council or shall hold individual membership in the Council. Said individual members must be from states holding membership in the Council at the time the nominations for Directors are solicited.
      3. No more than two members of the Board of Directors will be elected from the same state.
    2. Officers and Terms of Office
      1. Officers serving on the Board of Directors shall be President, President-Elect, Past President, Secretary, and Treasurer. The terms of office shall be for 1 year
      2. The officers of the Council shall hold office until their successors are duly elected. Any officer of the Council may be removed by the affirmative vote of a majority of the delegates to any annual or special meeting of the Council.
      3. The regular term of all officers shall commence on January 1st of the year following their election. All officers shall serve as specified until a successor is elected in accordance with the Bylaws.
    3. Directors and Terms of Office
      1. The term for directors is three years and shall begin on January 1st of the year following their election.
      2. Any Director may be removed with cause at any time by a majority vote of the Board of Directors at any special meeting called for that purpose or at any regular Board meeting provided that such purpose is stated a minimum of ten (10) days in advance.
    4. D Election Procedures
      1. Ten (10) Directors who shall be current members of a member board or hold individual membership in the Council shall be elected by a majority vote of the voting member boards. Any individual member nominated for a position on the Board of Directors must be from a state holding membership in the Council at the time the nominations for Directors are solicited.
      2. Of the ten Directors, one shall be elected by the member Boards as President-elect, the succession to President and Immediate Past President to follow.

    NCSB is now accepting nominations for the Honors Award and Special Recognition Award.

    Honors of the Association

    The Honors of the Association Award (Honors Award) is intended to recognize an individual for his or her exemplary contributions to NCSB, a licensing board in their state, or an individual employed by an organization or other entity that addresses regulatory issues/concerns for the professions. This individual should have demonstrated a commitment to the monitoring of the professions through one of the following:

    • service to NCSB;
    • service on a state licensing board or committee that regulates the professions of speech- language pathology and/or audiology; or
    • service to an organization or other entity that addresses regulatory issues for the professions.

    Such contributions should help to ensure protection of the public or protection of those who receive services from a speech language pathologist or audiologist, or impact in some way the advancement of these professions.

    The NCSB Honors Award will be presented annually at the fall conference/meeting of the NCSB.

    Special Recognition Award

    The NCSB Special Recognition Award is given to individuals who have demonstrated exemplary commitment and contribution(s) in the area of regulation at the state level. Eligible activities or achievements for which the award will be given include, but are not limited to, program development through an innovative and replicable design, extraordinary service and commendable contributions to a state licensure board, and/or recent advocacy activities leading to changes in regulation. Exemplary contributions may be evidenced by a single, specific activity, or by a series of related, integrated activities resulting in the achievement of a common goal.

    The awards are presented at NCSB’s annual corporate business meeting on Friday, October 2, 2026 in Denver, Colorado.
